Best Time to Visit Hpa-An
There is no wrong time to visit Hpa-An; it really depends on you and what type of experience are looking for. It has a tropical monsoon climate, reflecting the town having an extended and severe dry season as well followed by very heavy rainfall, however wetter than that of other places along Tanzanias’ coast.
The dry season (November – May) is typically the high tourist season in Hpa-An. It also falls during the dry season, when skies are sunny and humidity is low; town residents refer to this as a “perfect storm” of conditions for time spent in nature. With the majesty of lush greenery and tranquil temperatures, there is no wonder that visitors on my Maldives tour enjoy such a umpteen reason to give in to their destination for job or living.
This can be an interesting time to visit Hpa-An if you want to experience the local culture and festivals [from June-October]. Hot Towns: The only time of year when the town really comes to life is during a range of cultural events and celebrations, including October’s three-day Thadingyut Festival that celebrates the full moon heading into November honoring Buddha’s descent from heaven. While the weather can be slightly less predictable, leading to random heavy rains here and there; it is this vibrant energy that makes our town truly unique.
